Hello again...sorry!

Heyyy,

Oh dear, I just disappeared, didn't I? I'm so sorry. Basically, I went back to uni and didn't realise how occupied I was going to be with work, and events and such. But I truly miss blogging, even though I'd only just got started. Sooo, it will be a new years resolution of mine to really get back into the swing of it! I might make it more mixed between my life and makeup...just so I keep on updating. I think it was the effort of make up entries that put me off every time I thought of it...taking photos, uploading them, etc. & to be honest, I can't afford much make up during term time, so there was very little to talk about. But ALAS. I shall return, and try harder than I do on any of my essays...& that's probably true.

Updates coming soon!

Review: Bourjois So Laque!

Helloooo.

I gave myself a French manicure last night.

Used -
Natural collection Crystal Clear
Bourjois So Laque! 13 Rose Lounge
Wet 'n' Wild (what's happened to them!?!) Manic White

I'd been needing a new colour as I only had a bottle of the white tip, so I went into to T.J.Hughes for a bottle of £2 stuff as they always sell good brands discounted. I fell upon this bottle of So Laque! by Bourjois, liked the colour, so bought it. Anyway, I next popped into Boots for a browse and I find out that So Laque! is new!?!? Retailing for about £7? But currently on some introductory offer for £5? Go T.J's!! There is an absolutely goooorgeous purpley colour that I mustmustmust have though. I went back to T.J's to see if I'd missed it, but unfortunately I hadn't. Full price for that one.

Anyway, review about So Laque!:

Good
-Pretty, natural, pink colour.
-"Enriched with Vinyl" it says.
-"Lasts up to 7 days" it says. It seems pretty hardcore so I'll go with that for now.
-Luuurve the packaging!
-It's sold at
T.J's!

Bad
-Takes 3 coats to get given colour on the nail.
-Takes an age to dry properly - an hour later I went to get bread out of the packet and my nails messed up a bit. Although I admit I forgot a top coat of clear.
-£7? Ouch!

Repurchase? Naaah.

Although this is the colour I must get one day:

Alrighteo guys, lotsa love xxx

Review: Lush's Happy Pill

Yesterday I tried the Happy Pill from Lush. I bought it because I needed cheering up, and even if only a psychological mind game, the name and smell did lure me in. It contains lemon, mandarin and grapefruit so the smell if a very citrussy one, which I love.

I dropped in a bath of warm water as advised. It immediately started fizzing, moving about the bathtub quite rapidly at first. The immediate smell was beautiful, filling my bathroom. The bath turned a bright but milky yellow quite rapidly, which was quite nice in my opinion (picture below). On getting in the bath, the smoothness of the water immediately effected me in a good way. Already my skin was feeling really smooth. After a few minutes the sm
ell was extremely mild, but maybe I was just used to it. I feel that maybe the main happiness I gained was sitting in a brightly coloured bath that made me feel lusciously soft. Although I felt no different when getting out of the bath. I may repurchase anyway, just for the happy aura it gives off. :)

Good

- The smell filling the room
- The colour did not stain the bath
- Smooth on the skin
- Contains lemon which is meant to be good for toning...so, got some goodness in there!

Bad
- £2.86 for a bath. I know this is average, even cheap, for Lush products, but their bath ballistics are gone in one.
- I didn't feel any different skin-wise once dried off.

When Harry Met Sally

Today I have done absolutely nothing apart from eat a meal of scrambled egg on toast and drink copious amounts of tea. So, feeling slightly lethargic and miserable, I decided to put on a feel good film. I chose 'When Harry Met Sally'. This has to be my favourite film, I think. It reminds me so much of what my best friend and I go through, so when I see the friendship between Harry and Sally I feel so so lucky. & the scene at the end just gets me every time:

Then followed with a bathful of Lush's 'The Happy Pill', I have had the perfect evening it, it seems! :D I now have a few cover letters to write to try and get myself a job at uni, but who cares. :)

I had to do a post about this. I feel all happy after watching. :) What is your favourite tear-jerker love film?

xxx

Favourite quotes:

Harry: I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.
Sally: You see? That is just like you, Harry. You say things like that, and you make it impossible for me to hate you. And I hate you Harry. I really hate you. I hate you.

Sally: And I'm gonna be forty!
Harry: When?
Sally: Someday.
Harry: In eight years.
Sally: But it's there. It's just sitting there, like some dead end. And it's not the same for men. Charlie Chaplin had kids when he was 73.
Harry: Yeah, but he was too old to pick them up.

(During the Pictionary game)
Jess: "Baby talk"? That's not even a saying!
Harry: Oh, but "baby fish mouth" is sweeping the nation? I hear them talking.

A few purchases to make me feel better :)

Yo.

Another giveaway: NicolaVC86 is giving five followers a chance to receive some false lashes! Please give her a visit. :)

So I've been a bit in the dumps recently due to breaking up with my boyfriend last week. My doing, but I'm proper gutted all the same. So, although VERY poor and waiting impatiently for 1st September so I can get my overdraft extended (yes, I am the poorest student of students), I had to get something to cheer me up. Sooo very very little because I do have to be careful with my pennies, but here we go:
1. The Happy Pill from Lush.
" Fizz right back to happiness: one part refreshing grapefruit, one part cheerful mandarin and lemon. Drop into a warm bath for fizz and fragrance."
I can't wait to try this! Will give it a go sometime soon this week. The mandarin and lemon half smells beautiful! Not a fan of grapefruit anyway though.

2. W7 lipstick in 'Soft Lilac'
Omg I luuuuurve this! I really wanted to pick up a mauve colour and a baby pink colour, so I went into T.J.Hughes. If you live near one, you'll know that they do a lot of drug store brands for cheaper prices, and also cheap brands. This lipstick was £1! There was a stunning baby pink by the brand 'Makeup Academy' for 99p but they only had a mini tester out (which I considered taking....then thought, that has to be illegal? Even if it's 1cm high, right?) and I was in too much of a rush to ask a member of staff to go check "in the back" as I say. Going back to town on Thursday though...fingers crossed they have it. Here's some pics of Soft Lilac....

&& that's all folks!

One little question for you Lush purchasers: how do you store your bath ballistics/emotibombs? They're reccommended to be used fresh - if that's not a bit of disclaimer nonsense, what's the best way to keep them good as new? Cheers in advance!

Oooh, and also, today I donned my happy yellow (134) Barry M nail paint to get me feeling happy and bright. It's considered ghastly by my family, but I absolutely adore it. :D

Ok, really, I'm going now! Love you all! xxx

My 3 Favourite Nail Polishes

Hey!

This is my entry for The Nail Buff's contest to win Nails Inc Sole Sensations pedicure pack! Defo check it out - her blog is a really good one!

Anyway here goes:

1. 'Antique Coral' by Natural Collection
Lovelovelove this colour. It's a bright coral. & it's nicely shiney - if you look closely there are tiny tiny blue sparkles in it...however this is totally unnoticeable on the nails. But absolute stunner of a colour! & for £1.95 I didn't bother looking at any other coral shades from higher priced competitors.

2. 'Unique' by Star Gazer.
...At least I think it's called Unique. It's the only word on the packaging that looks like it could be the name. I got this from New Look for £2.50. It's a beautiful metallic sea-turquoise. GORGEOUS. Very versatile, so I take this when I go away for a few days with a bunch of different coloured outfits hehe.

3. 'Birds of Paradise' by Jessica.
Purple is my favourite colour, and this is a beautiful bright purple. I prefer a dark shade of purple usually, but this shade is perfect to make my nails stand out. I got this from a salon in a De Vere hotel as a gift...but this brand usually costs about £8.95.

I definitely like my nails to stand out as I don't really wear bright colours, and my makeup is generally quite neutral.

Will be updating very soon! Lotsa lovecakes! xxx
